Their natural colors more than match your very fashionable dresses. Their sheer range could strike you spell bound. Gemstones are precious or semiprecious mineral stones which when cut and faceted can be used as jewels.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is more to gemstones than just being jewelry items. They are regarded as lucky when worn specific to an individual’s birth month. Before we deal with this aspect in detail lets see the classification of gemstones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Classification and Characteristics of Gemstones&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is a tri-level classification of gemstones namely, groups, species and varieties. Simply put, rubies which are red in color belong to conundrum species which in turn belong to hematite group. Others like emerald, aquamarine, goshenite, heliodor and morganite, all of them belong to that variety known as beryl. There are over 150 different species available.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Gemstones display all characteristics of crystals like dispersion, refractive indices, hardness, and specific gravity etc. They also possess characters like inclusions, fractures and cleavage which play upon their quality and values. However gemologists include all gems into the precious list.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hardness is another important characteristic of gemstones. Simply put, hardness means resistance to scratch which is measured in Mohs, a system developed by an Austrian mineralogist F. Mohs. The scale of hardness reads from 1-10 with higher number indicating the hardest. If talc is at the bottom with just 1Moh, diamond has 10Mohs. Other popular gemstones like feldspar, topaz and sapphire having Mohs of 6, 8 and 9 respectively.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;userID=313379&amp;productID=455519357" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img alt="" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-2753.gif" border="0"&gt;&lt;br&gt;10 Karat Yellow Gold Peridot Pendant with chain - $273.53&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;Retail Price: $283.53&lt;br&gt;&lt;span style="color:red"&gt;You Save: $10.00&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Birth Stones&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;US Geological Survey lists gemstones classified as &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?~1awm" target="_blank"&gt;birth stones&lt;/a&gt;. It is believed by most people that wearing birthstones brings luck to their lives. It is not surprising that all societies have this kind of faith with regards to gemstones, albeit with differences here and there, looking at the romancing tryst every society had with these ‘stones’. The list is in the order of calendar months with each month having at least one gemstone specific to that month. One can find a list of birth stones on official website of USGS.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Buying Gemstones&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;USGS cautions buyers against unscrupulous sellers as more and more of them are trying to push through synthetic gemstones as genuine pieces to unsuspecting, inexperienced buyers. Gemstones are measured by size and carats. (1carat=1/5th of a gram.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;When buying gemstones, watch out for:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.Heating alters the color sometimes improving clarity&lt;br /&gt;2.Irradiation darkens colors&lt;br /&gt;3.Impregnation with wax, resins etc fills cracks, flaws&lt;br /&gt;4.Fractures filled by injecting plastic&lt;br /&gt;5.Differential colors in center and surface indicates diffusion treatment&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Always buy from reputed sellers who produce certificates by Gemological Institute of America to prevent a lucky stone turn unlucky.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;userID=313379&amp;productID=468218128" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img alt="" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-5015.gif" border="0"&gt;&lt;br&gt;10 Karat White Gold Peridot &amp; Diamond Earrings - $258.18&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;Retail Price: $268.18&lt;br&gt;&lt;span style="color:red"&gt;You Save: $10.00&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4471187350549325026?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4471187350549325026/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/08/gemstones-girls-new-best-friend.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4471187350549325026'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4471187350549325026'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/08/gemstones-girls-new-best-friend.html' title='Gemstones – Girl’s New Best Friend?'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-6260590165346790074</id><published>2011-06-10T06:55:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-06-10T06:55:00.371-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Pearls'/><title type='text'>Pearls : An Old Classic Breathes Life into New Trends</title><content type='html'>It's amazing how a tiny grain of sand can become one of the most coveted jewels of our time, &lt;b&gt;Pearls&lt;/b&gt;. One of the fastest growing trends in today's fashion industry is coupling pearl jewelry with a simple design to create a sleek new look. Just a &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygv" target="_blank"&gt;simple Akoya pearl strand&lt;/a&gt; can turn a casual sweater and jeans into a chic look desired by many.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the hottest styles is to wear &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygw" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;b&gt;multiple strands of pearls&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;. The mixture of different lengths and sizes adds flair to both day and evening wear. &lt;i&gt;Multi-strand pearls&lt;/i&gt; in various pastel colors can create a flirtatious and daring look for the spring/summer months. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The understated beauty of a perfectly matched strand of pure white Freshwater pearls is always in style. Professional woman are adding elegance to their business attire simply by slipping on their pearls. Even brides are trading in the sparkle of diamonds for a more classic look, usually a pearl strand handed down from the generation before. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Legends tell of pearls coming from heaven as a drop of water into the sea. Perhaps this is the reason for the popularity of the pearl drop earring. Many of today's rich and famous have been adhering to this trend. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Because pearls are created by a living organism, they are considered to be the most &lt;b&gt;feminine of all gems&lt;/b&gt;. Their warm glow, not common in other gems, is due to their unique beginnings. This makes pearls one of the most rare and coveted gemstones on the planet. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygz" target="_blank" title="Black Cultured Black Tahitian Pearl Jewelry Set"&gt;&lt;img border="0" height="275" src="http://www.shecypearljewelry.com/pearl-jewelry-pictures/jewelry%20set/pjs0053-z.jpg" width="366" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Online professional retailer, &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygy" target="_blank"&gt;ShecyPearlsJewelry.com&lt;/a&gt;, is known for its high-quality, low-cost pearl jewelry. Here, then, is a basic guide to pearls:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Freshwater Pearls&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="display: block; float: right; margin: 1em; width: 166px;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygn" target="_blank" title="Ladies Gold Freshwater Pearl Hoop Earnings"&gt;&lt;img alt="Ladies Gold Freshwater Pearl Hoop Earnings" height="116" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/large-90.gif" style="border: medium none; display: block;" width="166" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Freshwater pearls are farmed in rivers, lakes, and other freshwater sources. They differ from saltwater pearls in that freshwater pearls are almost entirely made up of nacre - the substance that gives pearls their luster and longevity. As a result, freshwater pearls will typically not experience the same amount of wear as saltwater pearls. A freshwater pearl necklace is also typically less expensive than other types of pearl necklaces. An added feature is that freshwater pearls come in a variety of colors, including pink, black, and purple. Those who trend toward nontraditional pearl colors will find the hue they're looking for in freshwater pearls. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Tahitian Pearls&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tahitian pearls are also known as black pearls because they are cultivated in the black-tipped oyster. The truth, though, is that Tahitian pearls come in a variety of hues, from true black to gray, from blue to green, and from pink to brown. It's difficult to match the colors of Tahitian pearls, so a Tahitian pearl necklace will cost more than its freshwater cousin. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Akoya Pearls&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Akoya pearls hail from Japan, where they are cultured. More expensive than freshwater pearls, Akoya pearls are also typically more perfectly round and smoother than freshwater pearls. The luster of an Akoya pearl necklace and pearl earrings makes them the jewelry of choice for many brides-to-be. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="display: block; float: left; margin: 1em; width: 180px;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygo" target="_blank" title="Pink Cultured Pearls Bracelet"&gt;&lt;img alt="Pink Cultured Pearls Bracelet" height="160" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/large-1594.gif" style="border: medium none; display: block;" width="180" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Factors Affecting Price&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The price of pearl jewelry can vary widely, depending upon a number of factors. Taking the price of the setting out of the equation, pearls are valued based on the type of pearl, their size, their roundness, and the absence or presence of flaws. If you are looking for affordable or wholesale pearl jewelry, freshwater pearls are your best bet. The most expensive pearls may be South Sea pearls, which are made by the pinctada maxima, or golden-lipped oyster. They are typically quite large and fairly rare.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pearls are measured in millimeters, and typically vary from 5 mm to 18 mm. Needless to say, all other factors being equal, the larger the pearl, the more expensive it is. The same holds true for roundness or symmetry and the absence of flaws. A perfectly round white pearl with no mars will cost more than a pearl that is slightly asymmetrical or that has a mark on it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That's not to say, of course, that only pearl jewelry made from flawless, large, round, white pearls is desirable. Increasingly, people appreciate the special qualities that colored and differently shaped pearls can bring to pearl jewelry. As with all exquisite items, everyone's taste is different. The one certainty is that you should know something about pearls before starting to shop for pearl jewelry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-8158830324066890369?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/8158830324066890369/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/06/understand-pearls-before-you-make.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8158830324066890369'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8158830324066890369'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/06/understand-pearls-before-you-make.html' title='Understand Pearls Before You Make A Purchase'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-4775782278370069926</id><published>2011-06-01T04:49:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-06-01T04:49:01.916-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Pearls'/><title type='text'>Pearls - Jewels of the Sea</title><content type='html'>Pearls are the traditional &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygk" target="_blank"&gt;Birthstone of June&lt;/a&gt;. They are believed to be one of the oldest known gem stones and we don’t really know when people started harvesting them. Pearls were the first truly prized gems because of their beauty and rarity, they need no enhancements such as cutting or polishing to help admire their captivating beauty.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ancient Hindu writings refer to pearls as bringing longevity and prosperity. An ancient story tells of a Krishna who brought pearls to give to his daughter as a gift on the day she was to marry. This Hindu story is one of the earliest known accounts of pearls and weddings. The ancient Greeks also believed pearls should be a part of the wedding. They thought pearls would bring love and all guests of the wedding were adorned in pearls. &lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;Pearls&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt; were sacred wedding gems given as gifts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="display: block; float: right; margin: 1em; width: 166px;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygl" target="_blank" title="Ladies 10 Karat Two-Toned Pearl Ring"&gt;&lt;img alt="Ladies 10 Karat Two-Toned Pearl Ring" height="116" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/large-2648.gif" style="border: medium none; display: block;" width="166" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pearls come in two main categories : &lt;i&gt;freshwater cultured pearls&lt;/i&gt; and &lt;i&gt;saltwater cultured pearls&lt;/i&gt;. Freshwater cultured pearls are grown in lakes and rivers, whereas saltwater cultured pearls are grown in bodies of saltwater such as bays.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Eygk" target="_blank"&gt;Quality pearls&lt;/a&gt; are very durable, but proper care is necessary to keep them beautiful and lustrous. Gently wipe the pearls with a warm, damp cloth to remove body oils or dirt (which may harm the colors) before putting them away. Wash pearls periodically with mild soap (NOT detergent) and a soft cloth. When finished washing the pearls, rinse them in clean water and wrap them in a thin, damp cotton towel to dry. If the pearls are especially dirty, wipe the pearl with acetone polish remover. Acetone will not hurt pearls. DO NOT use jewelry cleaners with ammonia or vinegar in them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today Pearls are commercially cultured to bring them into a price range that is affordable for everyone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4775782278370069926?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4775782278370069926/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/06/pearls-jewels-of-sea.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4775782278370069926'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4775782278370069926'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/06/pearls-jewels-of-sea.html' title='Pearls - Jewels of the Sea'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-3681648003065421373</id><published>2011-05-23T20:00:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-05-23T20:04:09.180-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Zodiac Signs'/><title type='text'>Zodiac : Gemini (May 21- Jun 20)</title><content type='html'>A sign known for always changing its mind, Gemini will have little to debate about this year. In other words, Gemini, you’re looking at a year where the path is pretty obvious, so you can find yourself some peace. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.tkqlhce.com/rb101vpyvpxCGDDLLGMCEDHDMEEI" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;" onmouseover="window.status='http://www.sara-freder.com/';return true;" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img alt="Free psychic reading" border="0" src="http://www.ftjcfx.com/99101h48x20MQNNVVQWMONRNWOOS" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-3681648003065421373?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/3681648003065421373/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/05/zodiac-gemini-may-21-jun-20.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/3681648003065421373'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/3681648003065421373'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/05/zodiac-gemini-may-21-jun-20.html' title='Zodiac : Gemini (May 21- Jun 20)'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-8755901803876036484</id><published>2011-05-16T00:29:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-05-16T00:29:46.913-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>Avoid Diamond Scams!</title><content type='html'>When it comes to diamonds, there are numerous scams to avoid. Most scams are minor, but there are some major ones that come up from time to time concerning the buying and selling of diamonds. Scams occur simply because most people who buy diamonds – for whatever reasons – don’t know that much about diamonds. Therefore, they are easily fooled.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A common scam that most jewelry stores participate in is the Carat Total weight scam. The tag on the piece of jewelry, usually a ring, only states the total carat weight of all diamonds in the piece, instead of listing the total weights separately for each diamond. This leads consumers to believe that the main diamond in the piece is actually bigger than it is. Ask what the total carat weight of the center stone is. Also beware of fractions. Jewelry stores are allowed to round off diamond weights. This means that if the jeweler tells you that it is a ¾ carat diamond, it is probably between ½ and ¾ carat – but closer to ¾.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;amp;userID=313379&amp;amp;productID=455520690" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-1017.gif" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Designer White Gold Unique SPINNING 37 Diamond Eternity Band&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jewelry stores often run ‘fluorescence’ scams to varying degrees. Referring to a diamond as a blue-white diamond is such a scam. A blue-white diamond sounds very unique and special, but in fact, this type of diamond is of lesser quality – even though the jeweler will try to make you think you are getting something special. Jewelry stores also like to show their diamonds in bright lights. Lights make diamonds shine. Ask to see the diamond in a different, darker type of lighting as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some truly unscrupulous jewelers target those who want appraisals on diamonds that were given to them as gifts or that werepurchased elsewhere. They will try to tell you that the diamond is worthless, or worth less than it actually is worth – and offer to take it off your hands or trade it for a much better diamond, along with the cash to make up the difference. This is called low balling. Get a second, third, and even a forth opinion before taking any action.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another common dirty trick is to switch the diamond you have chosen and paid for with one of lesser quality and value when you leave it to be set in a piece of jewelry, or leave a diamond ring to be sized. The only way to avoid this is to do business with one trustworthy jeweler. Avoid jewelers that you have not done business with in the past.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many more scams that jewelry stores commonly pull on unsuspecting consumers. Just use your best judgment, and purchase your diamonds with the utmost care and consideration.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;amp;userID=313379&amp;amp;productID=457590514" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-2954.gif" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;14 Karat White Gold Diamond Heart Pendant with chain&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-8755901803876036484?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/8755901803876036484/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/05/avoid-diamond-scams.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8755901803876036484'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8755901803876036484'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/05/avoid-diamond-scams.html' title='Avoid Diamond Scams!'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-2948681202602783105</id><published>2011-05-03T19:14:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-05-03T19:14:30.929-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Rings'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>Express Your Love With An Unbreakable Diamond Ring</title><content type='html'>She is the most important person in your life. Maybe she picks you up when you’re down, or is the mother of your children, or just cares for you unconditionally. Or maybe it’s a combination of all three. Whatever your reasons are, the truth is simple and undeniable – you are crazy about her. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So why not express your love with an unbreakable diamond ring? We all know that nothing melts a woman’s heart like diamonds, but the ring you select has to be a fit to her personality and style. In this article, we’ll give you some simple tips on making sure the diamond ring you give is one that &lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;amp;userID=313379&amp;amp;productID=455520088" target="_blank"&gt;takes her breath away&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The most important (and overlooked) aspect when it comes to selecting an unbreakable diamond ring is to keep your sweetheart’s tastes in mind. Many guys want to impress their woman by “picking it out themselves”. This often leads to a scenario where she “happily” accepts the ring. She may actually be thinking that she hates it, but will feel compelled to wear it because you picked it out with love. This is one situation you definitely want to avoid – and it is so easy to do&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By keeping her in mind and paying attention to her preferences, you will express your love with an unbreakable diamond ring that she will adore. For example, watch her the next time a jewelry ad comes on TV or the next time you pass a jewelry store window. Pay close attention to her reactions to certain pieces, even those being worn by other people. Make a casual comment such as “Boy, that sure looks nice” and see what kind of response it gets. Women love to give “subtle” clues when it comes to diamond rings. Unfortunately, men don’t always pick up on them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;amp;userID=313379&amp;amp;productID=455520088" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-933.gif" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Designer Two-Tone Gold Unique 37 Diamond SPINNING Eternity Ring&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is also important for you to take stock of the rings she currently wears. And we’re not talking her grandmother’s antique ring that she only wears on special occasions. You want to be taking note of the diamond rings she wears on a regular basis, as these pieces will be your guide to the diamond ring you select. She wouldn’t wear something all of the time if she didn’t like it, right? So, pay close attention to the style of diamond she prefers as well as the choice of metal (white gold, yellow gold, platinum, etc).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One last key piece of information and you’ll be ready to buy. It is helpful, but not necessary, if you can somehow find out her ring size. While she is at work or running errands, you could simply take one of her rings to the jeweler and voila! – you now have that mystery solved.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These tips will help you express your love with an unbreakable diamond ring that is sure to elicit a major reaction on her end. Remember, you don’t want to be the guy who just “picked it out themselves”. You want to be the guy that picked it out perfectly.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-2948681202602783105?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/2948681202602783105/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/05/express-your-love-with-unbreakable.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2948681202602783105'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2948681202602783105'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/05/express-your-love-with-unbreakable.html' title='Express Your Love With An Unbreakable Diamond Ring'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-7294191499487675287</id><published>2011-04-30T19:27:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-04-30T19:27:14.867-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Jewelry'/><title type='text'>The Myths Behind the Birthstones</title><content type='html'>One of the earliest stories connected to the practice of wearing &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Evva" target="_blank"&gt;birthstones&lt;/a&gt; comes from the Christian Bible. In the book of Exodus, the Breastplate of Aaron is described to have been mounted with &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Evva" target="_blank"&gt;twelve precious stones&lt;/a&gt;: ruby, topaz, beryl, turquoise, sapphire, emerald, jacinth, agate, amethyst, chrysolite, onyx and jasper. These twelve stones represented each of the twelve tribes of the Hebrews.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Other ancient cultures, the Hellenics and the Babylonians in particular, have associated certain precious stones with their gods and goddesses, and later on with the planets and the stars represented in astrological signs. These stones were given attributes pertaining to the astrological signs they are linked with, as well as supernatural, protective powers. To wear the particular gemstone associated with a particular month on that given month is to invoke the protection offered by the power of the stone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Evvb" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-28.gif" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Marquise cut Emerald and Diamond Cut Pendant&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Over time and as Christianity came to rise, the Church tried to downplay astrology in the lives of the flock, and so wearing gemstones came to represent guardian angels and the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ instead. The idea that gemstones have the power to protect its wearer was nonetheless retained. However, since only wealthy people can afford owning a different gemstone for each month, most people have adopted the practice of wearing just the gemstone that represents the month of their birth. Since then, these gemstones were referred to as &lt;a href="http://shrsl.com/?%7Evva" target="_blank"&gt;birthstones&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-7294191499487675287?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/7294191499487675287/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/myths-behind-birthstones.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/7294191499487675287'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/7294191499487675287'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/myths-behind-birthstones.html' title='The Myths Behind the Birthstones'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-9117888545082928189</id><published>2011-04-27T01:44:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-04-27T01:44:00.224-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Emerald'/><title type='text'>Emerald - the most difficult gemstones to cut!</title><content type='html'>Emerald has one of the longest histories of all gemstones. The first known emerald mines were in southern Egypt and were operated from before 1000 BC into the 1700's. This is a testament to the high value people have placed on emeralds for many centuries as the work was hard and dangerous and the stones small and poor by today's standards. Treasured for at least 4,000 years by different cultures all around the world, emerald is said to quicken the intelligence as well as the heart. Legend gives its owner the gift of eloquence.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In contrast to other beryl gemstones, emerald is typically heavily flawed with cracks and inclusions of fluid and minerals. These inclusions are called "jardin" (or garden) as they typically resemble leaves and branches. These characteristics are not looked upon as negative aspects for emerald as they would be for other gemstones. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Indeed, these inclusions are considered part of the character of the stone and are used to assure the purchaser that the stone is genuine. Because emeralds are so rare without inclusions, some inclusions are expected and do not detract from the value of the stone as much as with other gemstones. Most emeralds on the market today have been treated with various types of oil or resin to improve their appearance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;table border="1"&gt;&lt;tbody&gt;&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td align="center"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;amp;userID=313379&amp;amp;productID=459159717" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/large-4455.gif" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;amp;userID=313379&amp;amp;productID=459159717" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span point-size="8" style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: #0852a5;"&gt;Yellow Gold Emerald Circle of Life Pendant&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span point-size="8" style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: #0852a5;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span point-size="8" style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: #0852a5;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt; - $ 414.00&lt;br /&gt;This breathtaking gemstone circle pendant is crafted in 10 karat yellow gold. This diamond and emerald pendant has an outside diameter of 0.80 inches or 20mm and an inside diameter of 0.67 inches or 1.6mm. This pendant has 19 diamonds and 19 emeralds. The 19 diamonds have a total carat weight of 0.09. The diamond clarity is I2 and the diamond color is HI. Emerald is one of the most difficult gemstones to cut because of the high value of the rough stone and the many inclusions found in crystals. Small changes in orientation can make a large difference in the final appearance of the gem. Skilled craftsman who specialize in cutting emerald can be found in cities around the world for jewelers who insist on having stones perfected for the optimum brilliance and vibrancy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;amp;userID=313379&amp;amp;productID=459159448" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-4272.gif" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;White Gold Diamond &amp;amp; Emerald Eternity Ring - $ 708.80&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Retail Price: 1000.00&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: red;"&gt;You Save: $291.20&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-9117888545082928189?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/9117888545082928189/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/emerald-most-difficult-gemstones-to-cut.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/9117888545082928189'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/9117888545082928189'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/emerald-most-difficult-gemstones-to-cut.html' title='Emerald - the most difficult gemstones to cut!'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-2232193212234090243</id><published>2011-04-23T01:39:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-04-23T01:40:34.407-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Amethysts'/><title type='text'>Amethyst can protect from drunkenness ?</title><content type='html'>Amethyst is a violet or purple variety of quartz often used as an ornament or jewelry. Its violet color makes this one of the most sought after variety of quartz. It has a large number of qualities and uses that have been given it over the years and it is said to be a stone that radiates energy which has often been referred to as the purple ray. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;userID=313379&amp;productID=468218129" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-5016.gif" border="0" alt="10 Karat White Gold Amethyst &amp; Diamond Earrings" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;10 Karat White Gold Amethyst &amp; Diamond Earrings - $ 258.18&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Retail Price: 500.00&lt;br /&gt;&lt;font color="red"&gt;You Save: $241.82&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is referred to as a Spiritual Stone because its color violet is same as that of the crown chakra. Amethysts also are believed to calm emotions and reduce stress. It’s an amulet for travelers, and helps whoever holds the stone to have a more optimistic outlook and perspective. Placing it under your pillow is supposed to help induce sleep and prophetic dreams. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some people use amethyst balls not so much for divination, but to channel knowledge and healing from the universe. It’s also used for healing in a variety of ways. If you merely hold it in your hand or keep it in your pocket, you can channel the healing powers of amethysts. Although a healing crystal doesn’t necessarily need to be amethyst, it’s one that’s often used for spiritual as well as physical healing&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=5917&amp;userID=313379&amp;productID=455519351" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img src=http://www.elitejewels.com/products/3x3-2679.gif border=0&gt;&lt;br /&gt;10 Karat Two-Tone Amethyst Pendant - $ 273.53&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Retail Price: 350.00&lt;br /&gt;&lt;font color=red&gt;You Save: $76.47&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-2232193212234090243?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/2232193212234090243/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/amethyst-can-protect-from-drunkenness.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2232193212234090243'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2232193212234090243'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/amethyst-can-protect-from-drunkenness.html' title='Amethyst can protect from drunkenness ?'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-8956960775877961038</id><published>2011-04-03T05:51:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-04-03T05:53:37.057-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Jewelry'/><title type='text'>How to Make Easy Earrings</title><content type='html'>For more jewelry-making videos, do visit &lt;a href="http://famoushobbies.info/jewelry-making" target="_blank"&gt;HERE&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;object width="425" height="350"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hl3Y8SkafEc" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="wmode" value="transparent"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hl3Y8SkafEc" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-8956960775877961038?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/8956960775877961038/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-make-easy-earrings.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8956960775877961038'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8956960775877961038'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-make-easy-earrings.html' title='How to Make Easy Earrings'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-5963273081477928850</id><published>2010-05-14T23:35:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2010-05-14T23:35:00.229-07:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Jewelry'/><title type='text'>How To Value Your Jewelry From Home or Work!</title><content type='html'>This easy to understand home study eBook course has been designed for the non-professional without all the technical jargon. Diamond jewelry shopping could be a bit overwhelming, since there are national chains and local jewellers which could provide what you want. Another place to search and purchase diamond jewelries is on the internet. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;More people are choosing online shops rather than personally buying the jewelry from the shops. Mainly, it is because the price tends to be more affordable when buying things online. Aside from the difference in the cost, there are also more choices in online shops. It would also give you enough time to make a guided decision and learn more about diamonds. It would even make jewelry hunting easier, since you can do this while at home or in the office. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have chosen to purchase online, there are guidelines that should be considered to make sure that you will be getting your money’s worth. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• When buying jewelries online, always look for shops that would display their business registration number. They would also be displaying company contact information. You could start by checking if these online shops are credible enough by calling the company offices. You could also check online stores by sending them e-mails. Immediate reply to your call or e-mail would show how much the company value its customers. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Always check the money-back guarantee. There are online stores that would offer diamond and other kinds of jewelries in low prices, only to find out that they have no-return policies in the fine print. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Once the online purchase is finished, it is available to take the jewelry to a trustworthy jeweller for inspection. If your jeweller decides to use a loupe or a scope to examine it, make sure that your jeweller would be done with the inspection before the return-policy expires. This would help you get an idea if your purchase would be worth its price, if not, then you could return it. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Don’t immediately buy the diamond jewelry that would catch your eye. Continue with searching for similar diamond jewelry that could cost you lower. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• When purchasing the diamond, always ask for the diamond certification or grading report. This would ensure that your jewelry was properly inspected and documented. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• When buying diamond jewelry online, using your credit card for purchase would be a good idea. There are some credit card companies who would prevent or intervene if the product purchased or site is fraudulent. Check with your bank if they would be able to do this for you in case you would run into a problem.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Online shops and stores could be convenient but safety and precaution should be followed when purchasing on the internet. Regardless of any kind of product you will be buying, research is very crucial. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are also organizations which you could approach to learn more about a particular business or assistance regarding a problem with a purchase. There are also local programs which could help in resolving disputes about jewelry, even diamond jewelry disputes. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a bitly="BITLY_PROCESSED" href="http://li.nk2.biz/jewelrysecrets" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/S7QUBKKodSI/AAAAAAAABaQ/BRaClynhXQE/s320/jewelry-selling-secrets-ebook.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4096828766385739233?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4096828766385739233/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2010/03/what-to-keep-in-mind-when-buying.html#comment-form' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4096828766385739233'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4096828766385739233'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2010/03/what-to-keep-in-mind-when-buying.html' title='What To Keep In Mind When Buying Diamond Jewelry'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/S7QUBKKodSI/AAAAAAAABaQ/BRaClynhXQE/s72-c/jewelry-selling-secrets-ebook.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-3297341857762575595</id><published>2009-12-20T01:11:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2010-02-27T04:24:17.426-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Crystals'/><title type='text'>Crystals And Gemstones Facts And Tips</title><content type='html'>There are people who believe in the power of crystals and gemstones to have profound energy medical tool. There specific stones and crystals for this purpose and as it is a more sensitive topic must be used with care. This is believed to work by placing the objects within the personal or aura atmosphere, where specialists trust that they heal both physical and emotional condition.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Crystal healers conduct the process usually at home. They seek to improve health especially if one is suffering from indigestion, fatigue, inflammation and headaches. It is recommended that only the right and good quality crystals and stones are used in order to achieve their effectual goal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;How to select the right gemstones&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Smell them. A strong smell given off by the object is an indication that there has been an application of coatings to enhance the color but actually is enough to weaken or dampen the energy of the stone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Check for irradiation. Considered the worst artificial treatment process, this is used to remove imperfections and bring out the color. Unfortunately, this causes the energy of the gems or crystals to become weak, and worse, dead.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Check for bad dye jobs. Also one of the worst artificial treatment procedures done, it is used to enhance the color. A weakened energy state of the stone is created when you see uneven color application or color that is easily rubbed off.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also avoid those that look too beautiful to be true. There are fakes crystals and gemstones everywhere. You don't want to be victimized by being carelessly enchanted by the flawless- and gorgeous-looking fake commodities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Identify the 3 C's. Clarity, cut, and color. These are the most important characteristics you should check out. If you don't know how, ask the experts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ask questions or research. It never hurts to always ask about the crystals and gemstones. And don't be afraid to ask many questions. These famous crystals have been around for years but its popularity was revived only and flaunted all over the world around the late 80's and have not wavered a bit since then.&lt;p class="zemanta-img zemanta-action-dragged" style="margin: 1em; float: right; display: block; width: 310px;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://commons.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:GreenRoomChandelier.JPG"&gt;&lt;img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f8/GreenRoomChandelier.JPG/300px-GreenRoomChandelier.JPG" alt="Early nineteenth century French cut-glass and ..." style="border: medium none ; display: block;" width="300" height="291" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span class="zemanta-img-attribution"&gt;Image via &lt;a href="http://commons.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:GreenRoomChandelier.JPG"&gt;Wikipedia&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;The Swarovski Dream&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was in October 24, 1862 when the world was so busy with so many things that the person who would revolutionize the crystals that we know today was born. Daniel Swarovski was born in Bohemia, Austria and worked alongside his father as a cutter when he was a young man. It was in 1883 that he went to the First International Electric Exhibition to see Edison's invention. He was inspired by many other inventors such as Siemens and Schuckert, and thought that there might be other means to a more perfect cutting of crystals. Clearly, cutting by hand is not enough.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And so in 1892, he invented a precision cutting machine and after three years, he, together with friends Armand Kosman and Fanz Weiz became financiers to Swarovski's vision of expanding his crystal cutting business. It was known as A. Kosmann, Daniel Swarovski &amp;amp; Co which later eventually changed to K.S. &amp;amp; Co.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then soon in 1908, he invented a furnace with his three sons that produced flawless crystal glass with amazing brilliance. He invented the Tyrolit, an effective grinding tool in 1919. He also invented the road-safety reflectors made of glass in the year of 1925.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then in 1948, Daniel began to establish the Swarovski Optik, his own company. And in 1988, he changed the logo of the Swarovski brand from the initially designed Edelweiss flower into a different logo. After a while, Daniel Swarovski decided to change it into a swan logo within the year. He used special coatings for the crystals to create the rainbow spectrum, of which the Aurore boreale is the most common.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Swarovski made the famous opera house chandelier again in the remake of the movie Phantom of the Opera. Later in 2004 – Swarovski created the 550 lb, crystal star on top of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in New York City which is actually 9 feet in diameter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And it was in 2007 that Swarovski accepted partnership with Philips to do manufacturing of various gadgets with "Active-Crystals".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Highlights on Swarovski Colors&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Swarovski made sure that when he makes crystals, he will make them crystals of classic colors, but there are colors that are exclusive to the brand. Below is the list of Swarovski Crystal Colors available today exclusively available from Swarovski.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MPMF1A?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;tag=wedding051-20&amp;amp;linkCode=as2&amp;amp;camp=1789&amp;amp;creative=9325&amp;amp;creativeASIN=B000MPMF1A"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 280px; height: 280px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SyC6XNbN4fI/AAAAAAAABSQ/GkJ8XVWPo94/s400/AnneKleinWacth.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5413531660002910706" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Classic colors include Crystal, Emerald, Rose, Peridot, Light Siam while the Exclusive Colors is comprised of Indian Sapphire, Light Topaz, Morion, Dark sapphire, Light Azore, Turmaline and Burgundy. Exclusive Effects include Comet Argent Light, White Opal Star Shine, Volcano, Satin, Matte Finish and Meridian. Other crystals are further classified into Classic Effects which include the popularly known Aurore Boreale, Heliotrope, Glacier Blue and Vitrail Light. Really, whatever kind of crystals you need, at whatever color, you will find them with the Swarovski crystals!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Swarovski has earned so much respect from the world and the crystals which he has worked so hard to develop remain popular to this day. They are used in fashion, electronics and as collection. The crystals are not only sold as beads that were normally created as necklaces or any other fashion accessories. The famous "crystal swan" is in fact the logo of the Swarovski brand and has been imitated by other crystal cutting manufacturers for years.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Daniel Swarovski died in 1956, but the love for his inventions and the craze for Swarovski crystals and gemstones live on. He was a man whose vision ceased to become a dream; it has crystallized into tiny yet beautiful works of art.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-2883970887571850213?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/2883970887571850213/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/12/swarovski-crystals-and-gems.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2883970887571850213'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2883970887571850213'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/12/swarovski-crystals-and-gems.html' title='Swarovski Crystals And Gems'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SyC6XNbN4fI/AAAAAAAABSQ/GkJ8XVWPo94/s72-c/AnneKleinWacth.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-3812707439628783369</id><published>2009-12-10T00:18:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2010-02-27T04:25:32.466-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Crystals'/><title type='text'>The Beginning Of Crystals And Gems</title><content type='html'>Indeed, everything that God created was beautifully and perfectly made, including man. Man was created to have total dominion over all of God's creations, the trees and plants, the animals and the nature including the countless precious elements found in our surroundings, such as the crystals and gemstones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, these stones are one of those most fascinating things that awaken man's interests. A gemstone or gem is made up of minute fragments of natural minerals. These are then smashed into undergoing a series of mechanical and chemical changes to bring out an expensive jewelry or adornment out of a simple stone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007NI1QK?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;tag=wedding051-20&amp;amp;linkCode=as2&amp;amp;camp=1789&amp;amp;creative=9325&amp;amp;creativeASIN=B0007NI1QK"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 280px; height: 280px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SyC4EbvTjFI/AAAAAAAABSI/c5eUsMUGNAE/s400/cyrstalearing.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5413529138404494418" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A gemstone can be described and distinguished being a precious or semi-precious stone rooted from the ancient Greeks. From the ancient times until now, precious gemstones serve as accessories and adornment, and could sometimes determine one's social status in life. While these gemstones such as the diamonds and emeralds are subdivided according to varieties and groups and sometimes, according to their species.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Treatments for Gemstones and Crystals&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Gemstones, just like any other product, must undergo several treatments for their mysterious beauty and quality. Treatments such as heating, radiation, waxing and fracture filling are required for the gemstone to appear as attractive as it can. Despite the beauty and glamour a gemstone can bring, there are also a lot of synthetic or fake stones which are available today such as the stones cubic zirconium and moissanite.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That is why today, experts have become rigid in identifying true gemstones. These gemologists or gemstones experts have the skills to easily determine a piece of beauty that is fake or unreal. However, nowadays, the technology has become so well advanced that even without a gemologist; we can already determine the value of these precious gemstones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a matter of fact, in one of Germany's premier cities, Munich, an International Exhibit will be anchored this year starting October 30th till 1st of November, entitled "Mineralientage Munchien 2009". It will feature gemological instruments and activities that will include international sales exhibition for minerals, fossils, crystals, gemstones, technical literatures and accessories. This event would surely bring joy to gemstones enthusiasts and will surely be another milestone in the field of Gemology, the science and study of Gemstones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Gemstones as Trinkets or Lucky Charms&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Aside from being an object of art and beauty, gemstones have evolved today as a reliable and constant companion of man. They are believed to bring luck and prosperity as well as abundance and love; and people use them as birth stones as well to pull positive energies towards them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These gemstones are also used as amulets and lucky charms like in Cleopatra's wheel, Mystic Star, Samadhi, Lucky Tree and so on. Anyone who wants to make the love of their life successful, all they have to do is get their own "Love Come Back to Me" or the "Aphrodite's Heart Necklace" gemstones as trinkets or lucky charms.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Truly, crystals and gemstones are considered to be one of the most attractive and precious elements of nature man had ever seen. Gemstones continuously fascinate man through its timeless beauty and elegance. And indeed, the Bible is absolutely true that everything God created was awesomely and wonderfully prepared for the use of mankind.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=wedding051-20&amp;amp;o=1&amp;amp;p=16&amp;amp;l=st1&amp;amp;mode=jewelry&amp;amp;search=Crystals%2Cgemstones%2C&amp;amp;fc1=000000&amp;amp;lt1=_blank&amp;amp;lc1=3366FF&amp;amp;bg1=FFFFFF&amp;amp;f=ifr" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" border="0" style="border: medium none ;" width="468" frameborder="0" height="336" scrolling="no"&gt;&lt;/iframe&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-3812707439628783369?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/3812707439628783369/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/12/beginning-of-crystals-and-gems.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/3812707439628783369'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/3812707439628783369'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/12/beginning-of-crystals-and-gems.html' title='The Beginning Of Crystals And Gems'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SyC4EbvTjFI/AAAAAAAABSI/c5eUsMUGNAE/s72-c/cyrstalearing.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-8203719671016729974</id><published>2009-06-16T17:39:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2010-02-27T04:26:49.207-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Rings'/><title type='text'>Create your own ring ...</title><content type='html'>Amazon's &lt;a href="http://www.amazon.com/b/?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;node=671810011&amp;amp;tag=geniareforkid-20"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Create Your Own Ring&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/a&gt; store is simply marvelous. Online is the perfect place to buy estate jewelry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It also never hurts to try something different and buy jewelry that's a little different than what you would normally buy. Change is good! What's most important is that your jewelry adds the finishing touches to your outfit. Make your fashion statement count and get noticed!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You need to determine what you want your jewelry to do. Do you want it front and center stage? Do you want it to compliment? Do you want it subtle? The occasion or event you'll be wearing your jewelry to is also important - make certain it is fitting. A sexy over-sized choker might be perfect for a night on the town but may not be fitting for the boardroom.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Although you may have a favorite designer. There's really no need to stick with just one designer. In fact there's no need for the pieces to actually be designer. There are plenty of wonderful pieces on the market that are unsigned but certainly make a fashion statement. Mix and match your jewelry to give it character and a little pizzaz!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Costume Jewelry, both signed and unsigned, is an affordable way to complete your look. Costume Jewelry can be bought for a low price and has plenty of life. Heck we see costume jewelry back to the 1920s still in excellent condition. What's great with costume jewelry is you can use it, get tired of it, put it away or give it away and have still gotten good value for your money. Designer pieces tend to cost a little more, last a little longer, and they usually follow more traditional lines so you can wear them for more than one or two seasons.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;!-- Begin AffiliateBOT.com Affiliate Code v1.0 --&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.affbot1.com/link-e1415e5ae1405e5204525c095a125f5d525601030247591f4b4955554704070e0307525e405c040053?plan=290"&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.affbot1.com/image-1040-13149.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;script language="javascript"&gt;document.write('&gt;');&lt;/script&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;!-- End AffiliateBOT.com Affiliate Code v1.0 --&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sterling Silver is affordable and very versatile. If you don't want to spend the money for sterling, then purchase some silver plate pieces. Silver is a must have to any wardrobe! You can go from dainty and delicate to large and noticeable. It can be dressed up or down and is acceptable for any event or occasion.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We always recommend have some gold plate or gold tone pieces in your wardrobe basics also. 10-14k gold may be a bit too pricey for many but gold plated jewelry is quite affordable and will give you good value for the cost. Gold like silver can be dressed up or dressed down and is perfect for a very classy look.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When purchasing rings you can have great fun - again the choices are endless from large and overwhelming to dainty and feminine. The length and size of your fingers plays an important role in what will look good. For example long skinny fingers don't look good with huge over-sized rings, yet a woman that has long thicker fingers they look exquisite. Long nails? Short nails? it all makes a difference. Play and see what you like what looks good. Also determine where you will be wearing these rings. For example if your working around fine fabrics you'll not want any rins that have sharp edges that could snag. Your rings are also part of your total statement.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When purchasing necklaces be certain you know your neck size so that you get a good fit. This is very important when purchasing on line as you don't get a chance to try. If your neck is average in size then a 16" necklace will look great, however if you have a somewhat larger than average neck then a 16" necklace could be too tight. Measure the length of some of your favourite necklaces you already own. This will give you a good indication of what length you prefer. Opera necklaces which are over 30" are terrific. They can be double wrapped, knotted, or whatever else your imagination comes up with. When choosing colored necklaces make sure its a color that compliments your skin tone. It may match your outfit fabulously but if it doesn't match or compliment your skin tone your look could be lost.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When purchasing bracelets you'll need to decide where you're going to wear them, and how noticeable you want them to be. The availability of size and shape is endless - you can go from large bangle bracelets to dainy gem bracelets. If it is a slip on bracelet be sure that it will fit over your hand. Make certain to measure your wrist as the fit of a bracelet is very important. To large and it will look sloppy and may even slide off. Too small can constrict your wrist movement.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When purchasing earrings - the shapes and styles are endless - from dangles to chandeliers to hoops to studs to buttons. From enamel to beads to gems to metal to wood. Size of the earrings is very important to the statement your making. The larger the earring the more noticeable and the more incorporated they become into your total look. Large earrings aren't for everyone - depending on your face size and shape they may actually detract rather than attract. Experiment and find what looks best on you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your jewelry choices are endless - no matter what your tastes, your likes, your dislikes. You'll be able to complete your look just the way you want it with little effort. So be sure to make your fashion statement!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sher from Estate Jewelry International have been serving customers for over 20 years, providing affordable estate jewelry, and a wealth of information on jewelry, fashion, designers, and beauty with on staff industry professionals. G, H, and I means that it has very little color. J, K, and L means that the diamond has a slight yellow color. P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, and X means that the diamond is a darker shade of yellow. Z means that the diamond has a fancy color – other than white or yellow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On the color grading scale, D is the most valuable, and X is the least valuable – however diamonds that get a Z rating are the rarest and most expensive diamonds&lt;br /&gt;in the world.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many aspects to a grading report. Determine how much it costs to make the item, how much it costs to market that item, and then mark it up by 15 – 30% or more. Simple, right? Well, pricing diamonds isn’t quite that simple. There are many factors that are considered when diamonds are priced.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diamond prices are determined first by adding the cost of the rough diamond, the cost of cutting the diamond, and all other costs necessary to turn the rough diamond into a marketable diamond. Depending on the importance of the diamond, an independent company may be called in to certify the grade of the diamond based on color, cut, clarity, and weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At this point, the diamond becomes more expensive each time it changes hands, until it finally reaches a retailer, where the price is raised a bit more. Before reaching the retailer, however, the diamond must travel from the mine, to the cutter and polisher, to the independent grading company, and then to the Primary market. Once it has reached the primary market, it will be purchased by diamond dealers and wholesalers, and from there it will be sold to retailers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a target="new" href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=149043.10000009&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0"&gt;&lt;img alt="The Finest GIA and AGS Certfied Diamonds." src="http://jacobruth.com/data/banners/468x60b.gif" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=149043.10000009&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" border="0" width="1" height="1" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As you can see, the earlier you can purchase a diamond in the process, the lower the cost of the diamond will be – but not the value. The value is based on what the diamond will sell for in the market place – through a retailer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you own a diamond, and you have no idea how much it is worth, you can have it appraised, but the appraisal may not be accurate. You will be better off obtaining a certificate through GIA – Gemological Institute of America. With the information on this certificate, you can use a cutter’s guide to accurately determine what your diamond is worth.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are also many diamond price calculators available. These can be found on the Internet, and many diamond dealers use these as well. You must realize, however, that before you can accurately price a diamond, without a Diamond Grade Report, you need to know quite a bit about diamonds, such as different cuts, clarity, color, and weight – and how each of those aspects adds to the value of a diamond, or decreases the value of the diamond as the case may be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Again, you will be better off if you get a Diamond Grading Report on the diamond, and use that information to look up the price in one of the guides that the diamond cutting industry uses. This will give you the most accurate value of the diamond in your possession, or of the diamond you are considering purchasing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-8307219053338679816?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/8307219053338679816/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-diamond-prices-are-determined.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8307219053338679816'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8307219053338679816'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-diamond-prices-are-determined.html' title='How Diamond Prices Are Determined'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-8653440993599750789</id><published>2009-02-19T00:37:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-19T00:37:00.650-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>How to Spot A Fake Diamond</title><content type='html'>In this world of advanced technology it is almost impossible to simply look at a diamond and determine whether it is real or not – especially if you don’t know much about diamonds. There are some steps that you can take to avoid buying a fake diamond, however.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p align="center"&gt;&lt;object height="344" width="425"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/344XTo5u0mo&amp;amp;hl=en&amp;amp;fs=1"&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/344XTo5u0mo&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First, only deal with reputable jewelers, and when you find a reputable jeweler, stick with them. Avoid buying diamonds or other jewelry from jewelers that you have never dealt with before in the past. Ask to see the certificate for the stone. If no certificate exists, walk away.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Look at the setting that the stone is in. Fake diamonds, such as zirconias, are usually set in low quality metals. Take a close look at the stone. Fake diamonds are not durable – natural diamonds, on the other hand, are the most durable stone on the planet. Look for scratches or nicks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After purchasing a diamond, take it to another jeweler for appraisal. In fact, take it to two or three other jewelers for an appraisal to make sure that the appraisals are all fairly close. If you find that you have purchased a fake diamond, you may be accused of making a switch when you return to the store of your purchase; therefore, it is important to have a certificate for the diamond. &lt;span style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold"&gt;No two stones are alike&lt;/span&gt; !&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=170801.10000077&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" target="new"&gt;&lt;img alt="James Allen Hearts &amp;amp; Arrows Diamonds" src="http://www.jamesallen.com/_uploads/banners/LS-HeartsAndArrows-468x60-4.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img height="1" src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=170801.10000077&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" width="1" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-8653440993599750789?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/8653440993599750789/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-to-spot-fake-diamond.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8653440993599750789'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/8653440993599750789'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-to-spot-fake-diamond.html' title='How to Spot A Fake Diamond'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-8919221965586344170</id><published>2009-02-18T00:40:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-18T00:40:01.047-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Antiques'/><title type='text'>Antique Jewelry: A Timeless and Elegant Adornment</title><content type='html'>Antique jewelry is a timeless classic adornment which can never go out of fashion. Diamond insurance isn’t like purchasing car insurance. It is quite different. Depending on the state that you live in, there are basically three different types of policies that will cover diamonds, and all insurance policies that cover diamonds are considered Marine type policies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The first type of insurance policies for diamonds is an Actual Cash Value policy. If the diamond is lost or damaged beyond repair, the insurance company will replace the diamond at today’s market value, no matter how much you paid for the diamond to begin with. This type of insurance policy for diamonds actually is not that common.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The most common type of insurance for diamonds is Replacement Value insurance. The insurance company will only pay up to a fixed amount to replace the diamond that was lost or damaged beyond repair. This does not mean that they will pay that amount – it means that they will pay up to that amount. In most cases, the diamond can be replaced at a lower cost.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a target="new" href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=170801.10000017&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0"&gt;&lt;img alt="James Allen Diamond Jewelry" src="http://www.jamesallen.com/_uploads/banners/LS-Diamond-Bracelets-728x90-10.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=170801.10000017&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" border="0" width="1" height="1" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The third type of coverage offered for diamonds is Agreed Value. This is sometimes called ‘Valued At.’ This type of coverage is very rare. In the event that the diamond is lost or damaged beyond repair, the insurance company simply pays you the amount that you and the company agreed upon. This is the best type of insurance to have, but it is rarely offered. If you can’t get Agreed Value coverage, Actual Cash Value coverage should be your next choice.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your rates will be determined by the value of the diamond, the type of coverage that you select, and the area that you live in. If you live in an area with a high crime rate, you can expect to pay more for your diamond insurance coverage. It is important to remember that insurance agents are not qualified jewelers, and jewelers are not qualified insurance agents. It is best to get a certificate for your diamond, and to provide the insurance company with a copy of that certificate. This leaves the insurance company less room for arguments over the actual value of the diamond.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don’t rely on separate coverage to cover your diamond. For instance, if you diamond is stolen from your home, it is probably covered on your home owner’s insurance policy – but the diamond probably won’t always be in your home, and once it leaves your home, there is no coverage.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-2598912195502840205?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/2598912195502840205/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/insuring-your-diamonds.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2598912195502840205'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2598912195502840205'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/insuring-your-diamonds.html' title='Insuring Your Diamonds'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-700942736507014115</id><published>2009-02-16T00:23:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-16T00:23:00.618-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>Choosing Diamonds ...</title><content type='html'>Diamonds are graded for certification by laboratories using grading criteria. Four of these criteria are critical to understand when making a diamond purchase or investment. Known as the “Four C’s” these criteria are :&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Color,&lt;br /&gt;2. Cut,&lt;br /&gt;3. Clarity&lt;br /&gt;4. Carat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Color is the result of the composition of a diamond and it does not change. When a jeweler is describing the color of a diamond they are referring to the presence or absence of color in white diamonds. Because a diamond with no color allows maximum light to pass through, colorless diamonds are preferred for their sparkle.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold"&gt;Cut refers to a diamonds reflective quality. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most diamonds are cut with 58 facets. The brilliance of diamonds is heavily dependent on the cut. The different angles and the finish of a diamond determine its ability to reflect light and cause its brilliance and fire. Remember that the cut of a diamond can ave an impact on its durability as well as its beauty. Some cutting faults can make a diamond prone to breakage. A diamond that is cut too thin can also cause light to leak out of the back and the diamond will lose some of the sparkle and appear not to shine. So, as you can see the &lt;span style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold"&gt;Cut is probably the most important of the Four C’s&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During the formation process, inner flaws, or inclusions occur in most diamonds. The number and size of these inclusions determine what is referred to as the clarity of a diamond. Diamonds that are clear create more brilliance and therefore are rarer and highly priced. To be considered “flawless”, a diamond must have no surface or internal imperfections visible upon being viewed by a skilled diamond grader using 10 power magnifications.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Carat is the unit of weight by which diamonds are measured. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams. A carat is divided into 100 segments called points. 150 points would equal one and a half carats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you go to the store to make that all important diamond purchase, do not be shy!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;p align="center"&gt;&lt;object height="295" width="480"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RVQ1Zz8LPMc&amp;amp;hl=en&amp;amp;fs=1"&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RVQ1Zz8LPMc&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ask questions, get the answers needed to make an informed purchase. Shopping for certified diamonds enables you to make an informed selection. Knowing the “four C’s” allows you to comparison shop and purchase the best diamond at a fair price. But, before making a purchase, shop around and decide what shapes and styles really appeal to you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enjoy your diamond for years to come!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=170801.10000307&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" target="new"&gt;&lt;img alt="James Allen Free FedEx 30 Days Return Coupon" src="http://www.jamesallen.com/_uploads/banners/coupon-318x240-3.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img height="1" src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=170801.10000307&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" width="1" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-700942736507014115?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/700942736507014115/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/choosing-diamonds.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/700942736507014115'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/700942736507014115'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/choosing-diamonds.html' title='Choosing Diamonds ...'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-4907773273218237636</id><published>2009-02-15T00:16:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-15T21:05:17.893-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>Synthetic Diamonds</title><content type='html'>The first synthetic diamonds were produced by General Electric in 1954. A synthetic diamond is basically a rock that has the durability, refractive index and hardness of a natural diamond – but it is made by man. A synthetic diamond &lt;span style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold"&gt;should not be confused&lt;/span&gt; with stimulant diamonds, such as glass, &lt;a style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold" href="http://precious-stones.bravehost.com/"&gt;cubic zirconia&lt;/a&gt;, or moissanite.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p align="center"&gt;&lt;object height="344" width="425"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LSyw2-4_DXg&amp;amp;hl=en&amp;amp;fs=1"&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LSyw2-4_DXg&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Although the technology for synthetic diamonds came into play in 1954, no synthetic diamonds were ever seen on the market until the 1990’s. This was due to the act that it took many years for General Electric to produce a synthetic diamond that could compare with the quality of a natural diamond – and when they figured out how to do it, they found that it cost more to produce a synthetic diamond than it did to mine and cut natural diamonds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally, a small company by the name of Gemesis Corporation figured out a way to produce synthetic diamonds that were of the same quality as natural diamonds, at a cheaper price. Today, Gemesis produces synthetic white diamonds, and colored diamonds as well. These diamonds sell for about 1/3 of the cost of a natural diamond, but there is a shortage of them, and they are hard to find. In fact, it seems that synthetic diamonds are rarer than natural diamonds!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=170801.10000307&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" target="new"&gt;&lt;img alt="James Allen Free FedEx 30 Days Return Coupon" src="http://www.jamesallen.com/_uploads/banners/coupon-318x240-3.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img height="1" src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=170801.10000307&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" width="1" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4907773273218237636?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4907773273218237636/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/synthetic-diamonds.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4907773273218237636'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4907773273218237636'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/synthetic-diamonds.html' title='Synthetic Diamonds'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-4038605623361662508</id><published>2009-02-14T00:12:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-14T00:12:00.911-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>Famous Diamonds</title><content type='html'>Among the most well known diamonds is the Hope. This 45.52 carat steel blue diamond is currently on display at the Smithsonian. The legends of the ill-fortune and curse bestowed on the possessor of the Hope Diamond are many. This diamond was donated to the Smithsonian in 1958. The Hope was originally a rather flat, blocky 110-carat rough.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Dresden Green stands out among the natural colored diamonds. It is the largest green diamond in the world weighing 40.70 carats. This diamond is historic, large and has a natural green color with a slight blue overtone. These facts make it virtually priceless.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Conde Pink is a pear shaped and weighs 9.01-carats. This pink diamond was once owned by Louis XIII.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Tiffany Yellow diamond a beautiful canary-yellow octahedron weighing 287.42 in the rough (metric) carats discovered in either 1877 or 1878 in South Africa. The gem after cutting boasts the extraordinary weight of 128.54 carats. And until recently, was the largest golden-yellow in the world.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Koh-I-Noor ( Mountain of Light ) is now among the British Crown Jewels. This diamond weighs 105.60 carats. First mentioned in 1304, it is believed to have een once set in Shah Jehan‘s famous peacock throne as one of the peacocks eyes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Agra is graded as a naturally colored Fancy Light Pink and weighs 32.34 carats. It was sold for about 6.9 million in 1990. Since this sale, it has been modified to a cushion shape weighing about 28.15 carats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Transvaal Blue is pear cut. This blue diamond weighs 25 carats. It was found in the Premier Diamond Mine in Transvaal, South Africa. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Great Chrysanthemum was discovered in the summer of 1963, in a South African diamond field. This 198.28-carat fancy brown diamond appeared to be a light honey color in its rough state. However, after cutting, it proved to be a rich golden brown, with overtones of sienna and burnt orange.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Taylor-Burton Diamond is a pear-shaped 9.42 carat diamond. Cartier of New York purchased this diamond at an auction in 1969 and christened it "Cartier." The next day Richard Burton bought the diamond for Elizabeth Taylor. He renamed it the "Taylor-Burton”. In 1978, Elizabeth Taylor put the diamond up for sale. Prospective buyers had to pay $2,500 each to view the diamond to cover the costs of showing it. Finally, in June of 1979, the diamond was sold for nearly $3 million dollars.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;!-- Begin AffiliateBOT.com Affiliate Code v1.0 --&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.affbot1.com/link-e1415e5ae1405e520456590f5a125f5d525601030247591f4b4955554704070e0307525e4a5c090953?plan=672"&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.affbot1.com/image-1416-19190.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;script language="javascript"&gt;document.write('&lt;img src="http://www.affbot7.com/impression-e1415e5ae1405e520456590f5a125f5d525601030247591f4b4955554704070e0307525e4a5c090953.jpg?ref='+escape(document.referrer)+'" width="1" height="1" /&gt;');&lt;/script&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;!-- End AffiliateBOT.com Affiliate Code v1.0 --&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4038605623361662508?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4038605623361662508/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/famous-diamonds.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4038605623361662508'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4038605623361662508'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/famous-diamonds.html' title='Famous Diamonds'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-4117949385145266983</id><published>2009-02-13T14:07:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-15T20:32:21.126-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>How Diamonds Are Mined</title><content type='html'>We seldom think about how the diamonds we wear came to us. Natural diamonds, as opposed to synthetic diamonds or fake diamonds, are mined from the earth. There are currently two methods of mining diamonds : Pipe Mining and Alluvial Mining.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p align="center"&gt;&lt;object height="344" width="425"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XyPR-CiabFM&amp;amp;hl=en&amp;amp;fs=1"&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XyPR-CiabFM&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When pipe mining is used, the diamonds are extracted from the earth through volcanic pipes. These are not man-made pipes. These are natural pipes in the ground. Shanks are put into the ground next to the pipes, and tunnels are driven into the deepest parts of the pipe. The diamonds are not sorted out at the mine. Instead, huge rocks that are full of diamonds are brought out of the mine and moved to a screening plant for separation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Alluvial mining method is done in riverbeds and on beaches. Walls are built to hold back the water and the sand on the bank or beach is moved with a bulldozer until the level of earth that diamonds can be found in is reached. Again, the diamonds are not sorted here. Instead, the sand that contains the diamonds is bulldozed into trucks, and taken to screening plants.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=170801.10000340&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" target="new"&gt;&lt;img alt="James Allen " src="http://www.jamesallen.com/_uploads/Banners/300_250_val_aff3.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img height="1" src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=170801.10000340&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" width="1" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4117949385145266983?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4117949385145266983/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-diamonds-are-mined.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4117949385145266983'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4117949385145266983'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-diamonds-are-mined.html' title='How Diamonds Are Mined'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-4966374079609574465</id><published>2009-02-12T23:56:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-12T23:59:25.790-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>Diamond is the birthstone for Virgos</title><content type='html'>Astrologically Diamond is the birthstone of April. It is also the gemstone for the 10th and 60th anniversary. Diamond is supposed to strengthen the planet Venus to increase luxury and enjoyment in your life. If you are a Virgo then according to Vedic astrology Diamond is the right gemstone for you. The glittering colour, the four perfect cleavage directions and its endurability has made it the most popular gemstone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For the interest of Chemistry student Diamond is nothing but a carbon. It is a polymorph of Carbon just like Graphite. Its chemical formula is “C” and only “C”. It’s a native element and belongs to the sub-class Non-metallic. Diamonds are available in wide variety of colors like Blue, pink, white, yellow. The diamond processing industry values the brown diamond much more, which comes in three varieties called Champagne, Cognac and Coffee.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For the Physics students, its hardness is perfect 10 out of 10 in mohs hardness scale. Diamond is the hardest substance, gifted by nature. Just for the sake of interest, Diamond is four times harder than Sapphire or Ruby. Diamond can scratch any other mineral and the myth, “Diamond can only cut a diamond”, is true. The clarity of Diamond is transparent. The specific Gravity of Diamond is 3.5, which is well above the average. Diamond conducts heat the best. For comparison purpose, its five times better than Silver. At this scenario of this very best, the Melting point of Diamond is 3820 Kelvin and the Lattice density is also the highest. Definitely Diamond is empowered with many excellent properties to become the first choice, but again the myth of its indestructible or eternity has been proved to be a foolish notion.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For the woman, Diamonds are the girls’ best friends. And for the man, Diamonds are the symbol of love.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diamonds are available all over the world. Mostly it is available in Australia, Arkansas, Africa, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Congo, and Russia etc. A large mine in South Africa has started its operation just five years back.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diamonds have been used in treatment of mankind for ages. Medical sciences have been able to find its remedial utilities in several accidental and usual disorders due to injuries, fracturing of bones etc. It is supposed to be highly effective in several brain diseases and nervous system disorders. Diamond even helps to control the hormone sequence of the human body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a target="new" href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=170801.10000338&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0"&gt;&lt;img alt="James Allen " src="http://www.jamesallen.com/_uploads/Banners/468_60_val_aff.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=170801.10000338&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" border="0" width="1" height="1" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4966374079609574465?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4966374079609574465/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/diamond-is-birthstone-for-virgos.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4966374079609574465'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4966374079609574465'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/diamond-is-birthstone-for-virgos.html' title='Diamond is the birthstone for Virgos'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-2055434829972504825</id><published>2009-02-12T23:50:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-15T20:59:12.429-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Rhinestones'/><title type='text'>Manmade Gems</title><content type='html'>Rhinestones have a glittering past. Originally rhinestones where referred to Czechoslovakian or Bohemian glass dating as far back as the 13th century in Bohemia and the Czech Republic. Both have a history steeped in beautiful hand blown glass as well as molded and cut glass.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p align="center"&gt;&lt;object height="344" width="425"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DiggqWEEgCk&amp;amp;hl=en&amp;amp;fs=1"&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DiggqWEEgCk&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By 1918 glass was no longer limited to functional items. Czechoslovakian glass began to make its appearance in dazzling and brilliant jewelry. This Czech glass became known as rhinestones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rhinestones were manmade gems from highly refined glass. By using various metals the glass was colored to the desired shade. It was then pressed into molds. Each stone was then ground and polished by machine, resulting in a brilliant glass stone. Often the stones were foiled on the back which increased their brilliance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today, the same refining process is still used. You will often here rhinestones referred to as paste. Originally paste was referred to a glass stone that made of ground glass which was molded and then melted, producing an opaque dense glass frosted stone. Paste had many air bubbles and swirl marks. The high lead content glass was then polished and faceted, and set on either copper or silver resulting in a brilliant stone. Today the term paste usually refers to rhinestones. In Europe rhinestones are often referred to as paste, strass, and diamante.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Austria is another area with a history in rhinestone production. In 1891 Daniel Swarovski created a new glass cutting machine which quite literally revolutionized the jewelry business. This machine could cut faceted glass, producing finely finished product in a very short time. Prior to this invention it would take a very long time for each stone to be hand cut and finished. Swarovskis background in glass making, combined with his glass cutting machine soon found him producing rhinestones with a lead content of over 30%. The brilliance of these rhinestones was superior to anything seen on the market. Swarovski wasnt content with his invention and the best rhinestones ever seen. His next invention was once again transforming to the jewelry industry. He created a vacuum plating for the backs of the stones with silver and gold, reducing the need for hand labor. Still today Swarovski rhinestones are recognized as the highest quality in the industry. Over 80% of rhinestone jewelry manufactured in America use Swarovski rhinestones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rhinestones have played an important role in costume jewelry for hundreds of years. It is used to enhance and accent, and sometimes rhinestones will provide the entire design. During the Victorian period common motifs for jewelry included snakes, flowers, and hands most often adorned with rhinestones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 1890s were a time for extravagant jewelry heavily adorned with rhinestones. As time moved forward designs became simpler with figural shapes once again making their fashion statement. However this time they were small and more elegant with small rhinestone accents.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During the Edwardian period extravagance had made a comeback with diamonds and pearls being the focal point. Once again rhinestones were in heavy use, often used to imitate the real thing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During the 1920s fashions were rapidly changing. Dresses had gone from fitted to a looser more comfortable style. Two distinct styles occurred during this era the feminine style and the androgynous style. Jewelry from the 1920s drew on the art deco period. The majority of rhinestone jewelry was made with clear rhinestones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As the 1920s moved jewelry once again became bolder. Dramatic color was in style. Designer Coco Chanel was an integral figure in the setting the stage for jewelry of this era.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During the 1930s during the depression labor intensive fashion was no longer feasible. While the world was in turmoil, jewelry represented an affordable comfort to many women. Inexpensive costume jewelry could be used to revitalize an old outfit. The industry began to produce bright colored enamel pieces accented with rhinestones. Dogs, birds, or cats with a rhinestone eye were common place.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The jewelry during the 1940s once again became big and bold with rhinestones being produced in every imaginable color, large stones set on large bold settings was the norm.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By the 1950s there were two very distinct looks elegant and sophisticated for the more mature woman, and casual and fun for the younger woman. The 1950s saw jewelry made completely from rhinestones. For the younger woman were flirty pieces, for the older woman sophisticated elegance. Rhinestone parures became extremely popular.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In 1953 the aurora borealis rhinestone was introduced to the market with its fabulous array of color. It was an instant hit!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By 1960s women were wearing very functional clothing. By the late 1960s the hippie fashions were extremely popular with their roots tied to Mother Nature. Tie dyed shirts, long flowing skirts, frayed jeans were everywhere. This generation had no interest in rhinestone jewelry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By the mid 1970s the punk look had been born and the rhinestone was revitalized. It was the disco movement brought the rhinestone back to center stage. The disco movement turned into the club movement during the 1980s and rhinestone jewelry continued to gain popularity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since the 1970s rhinestone have remained main stream in the jewelry world. They continue to gain popularity and today there is a style to suit almost every ones needs. There is rhinestone jewelry which is perfect for a bride, rhinestone jewelry for a prom girl, rhinestone jewelry for the young and fun crowd, the business woman, the sophisticated woman, and the mature woman. Beautiful pieces of rhinestone jewelry adorn almost every womans accessories.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If trends are an indication of the rhinestones future, it appears to have a vibrant healthy life ahead of it. Pleasing for most woman with a fashion sense who instantly recognize the value and beauty of rhinestones!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Copyright Sher Matsen, All Rights Reserved. Silver has been used for functional and aesthetic purposes. In times of old, silver was used to create flatware and armor to protect soldiers on their way into battle. Silver jewelry was later created and used by Phoenician and Egyptian citizens desiring attractive and convenient pieces to add to their jewelry collections. Over time silver has been used to create flatware, decorative art, coins, dental fillings, jewelry and more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Silver is produced in many different areas, though the highest concentrations of silver output come from Mexico and Peru.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the reasons sterling silver jewelry is so popular is its affordability and versatility. Sterling silver can be crafted into many different jewelry items including charms, rings and chains. Silver jewelry is often mistaken for other more precious metals including white gold and platinum.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Common Types of Silver&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many different types of silver that can be used to create sterling silver jewelry. Silver is considered one of the precious metals along with its cousins gold, platinum and titanium.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Fine Silver &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is silver in its most natural state, when it is considered 99% pure. Often this type of silver is too soft to create ordinary products and is almost liquid in form. Usually silver has to be mixed with other metal alloys in order to create jewelry and household wear.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Sterling Silver&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sterling is a mixture of fine silver and other metal alloys. The silver is considered about 92.5% pure. Sterling is usually combined with approximately 7.5% copper to make the jewelry more long lasting and durable. Sterling silver jewelry is usually marked on the inside with a "925", indicative of its purity. Sterling silver jewelry made of just the right combination of silver and metal allows a jeweler to create a long lasting, durable piece that is shiny and brilliant enough to be mistaken for more expensive precious metals. Sterling silver is more likely to tarnish over time because of the presence of copper; however this relatively mild side effect can be minimized through proper care. By consistently cleaning your silver jewelry you'll never even notice anything other than a beautiful shine and luster.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Silver Plating&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Plating occurs when a base metal such as nickel is covered with a layer of pure silver. This is often one of the most durable forms of silver, and is usually much less expensive than sterling silver because the percentage of pure silver in the jewelry is quite low. Most base metals need a re-coat of pure silver every few years to maintain a shiny outer coat and to prevent the base metal from peaking through the coating.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Nickel Silver&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nickel silver is a combination of nickel, copper and zinc that is not actually silver, but resembles silver. It is an inexpensive and popular item that can be used to create look-alike jewelry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Vermeil &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This form of silver was popular in the eighteenth century. Silver is plated in gold, providing a polished and expensive looking custom piece of jewelry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-2103304841076694330?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/2103304841076694330/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/sterling-silver-alternative.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2103304841076694330'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/2103304841076694330'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/sterling-silver-alternative.html' title='Sterling Silver - the alternative'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-3478423622624355554</id><published>2009-02-12T21:29:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-12T21:32:28.478-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>What Are Dirty Diamonds?</title><content type='html'>A dirty diamond is one of two things: a rough diamond, or a diamond that hasn’t been&lt;br /&gt;cleaned in a while. Rough diamonds are uncut and unpolished – hence, they are dirty.&lt;br /&gt;But that type of dirty diamond will soon be cut and polished and sitting in a beautiful jewel box in a display case. Then someone will purchase it, and before long, it will become a dirty diamond once again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diamonds become dirty. When you wash your hands with a diamond ring on, soap scum clings to it. When you put on hand lotion, it gets grease on it. Shower with your diamond earrings or necklace, and again, you get soap scum. In one short day, your brand new diamond could be dirty!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Purchase an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner the same day that you purchase your diamond jewelry, and use it every single day, without fail. The clarity of the diamond changes when the diamond is dirty – it loses its sparkle. By taking one minute each day to clean your diamond jewelry, you can avoid this, and your diamonds will never be dirty!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;a target="new" href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;offerid=171940.10000003&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0"&gt;&lt;img alt="www.Diamond-Jewelry-Masters.com The Web's Best Place for Diamond Jewelry." src="http://www.overnightjeweler.com/linkshare_graphics/392x72a_DJMbanner.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=ohEAH3RllGo&amp;amp;bids=171940.10000003&amp;amp;type=4&amp;amp;subid=0" border="0" width="1" height="1" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-3478423622624355554?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/3478423622624355554/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/what-are-dirty-diamonds.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/3478423622624355554'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/3478423622624355554'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/what-are-dirty-diamonds.html' title='What Are Dirty Diamonds?'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5006092878047484873.post-3729532248755432540</id><published>2009-02-12T20:23:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2009-02-12T20:32:30.474-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Diamonds'/><title type='text'>Where Diamonds are Mined</title><content type='html'>Argye mine located in the Kimberley region in the far north east of Western Australia. Diamond history is one filled with mythical stories, such as one where snakes guarded a land full of diamonds, and the history has fascinated people with the romance and beauty that surrounds our most precious gemstones; diamonds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Early Diamond History&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Around 3,000 years ago, in the country of India, the first ever diamond history was recorded. If diamonds had been found prior to this period of time, we have no written record of it Diamonds in this day and age were used for two main purposes, and is quite different from why we still love diamonds today. Diamonds stood as a talisman in order to fend off evil spirits, and to provide protection during battles, and they were also valued because of their ability to reflect the light.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="fullpost"&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Dark Ages of Diamond History&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is during the dark ages that the diamond history moved into having some sort of medical purpose. St Hildegarde was said to have written an anecdote to heal wounds and cure illnesses that instructed the sick to hold a diamond in their hand and make the sign of the cross. Some people in diamond history went as far as swallowing diamonds, hoping it would cure their illnesses magically.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Middle Ages of Diamond History&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was during the middle ages that diamonds began to gain popularity. It is this point in diamond history that many of the famous diamonds were discovered, including the Blue Hope, and the mountain of light, both found in India. In our current times, India remains the worlds finest polishers of diamonds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The middle ages also saw a shift in diamond history- where previously diamonds were valued based on their mythical powers, they began to be valued more for their overall worth. As more people learned of the incredible value of diamonds, mine owners began circulating stories that diamonds were poisonous, to prevent the workers from swallowing diamonds as a means to smuggle them out of the mines undetected.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also during this period of diamond history, people wanted diamonds more than any other time period previously, mostly because they recognized their power and worth. India's diamond supply was dwindling and was unable to meet demands of diamond buyers. South Africa's find of diamonds near the Orange River began the world's largest diamond rush of diamond history, and helped satisfy the demands of those wanting diamonds for themselves.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;More Recently&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Diamond history began to spread into eastern Australia sometime during the middle of the nineteenth century. During the late 1970's, Australia as a diamond producer became validated. Also in the late 1970's, 1979 to be exact, the Argyle pipe near Lake Argyle was discovered by geologists. Since that day, Argyle has become the absolute largest producer of diamonds in all the world and throughout diamond history, and produces over one third of the diamond volume each year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5006092878047484873-4796155062457546216?l=precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/feeds/4796155062457546216/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/diamond-history.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4796155062457546216'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5006092878047484873/posts/default/4796155062457546216'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://precious-stones-for-you.blogspot.com/2009/02/diamond-history.html' title='Diamond History'/><author><name>LK</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/16382868250100946480</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='24' height='32' src='http://bp2.blogger.com/_IU_GfzDOe08/SB77c-mjFQI/AAAAAAAAAAU/mf54qzeOD10/S220/AfeeqnMama.JPG'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry></feed>
